Hi, I’m Lourens 👋

I’m an experienced online English teacher, and I specialise in helping young learners and pre-teens feel confident speaking English from the very beginning.

In my FreeTalk News classes, I do things a little differently.

Instead of focusing only on grammar or textbooks, I use simple, real-world news topics to help students learn how to actually communicate. My goal is to create a relaxed, friendly space where students feel comfortable speaking, sharing ideas, and even making mistakes — because that’s where real learning happens.

In each lesson, I guide students step by step to:

• understand interesting world topics in a simple way
• learn useful, everyday vocabulary
• express their opinions clearly
• agree, disagree, and give reasons
• build confidence in speaking naturally

I love bringing energy, storytelling, and interaction into my lessons. I want students to feel engaged, curious, and excited to join each class — not nervous or pressured.

Over time, I’ve found that this approach helps students:

• speak more confidently
• think more independently
• use English more naturally
• enjoy learning, instead of fearing it

For me, teaching English isn’t just about language — it’s about helping students find their voice.

And that’s exactly what I aim to do in every class
